من ندیدم دهشان،
بی‌گمان پای چپرهاشان جا پای خداست.
ماهتاب آن‌جا، میکند روشن پهنای کلام.
بی‌گمان در ده بالادست، چینه‌ها کوتاه است.
مردمش می‌دانند، که شقایق چه گلی است.
بی‌گمان آن‌جا آبی، آبی است.
غنچه‌یی می‌شکفد، اهل ده باخبرند.
چه دهی باید باشد!
کوچه باغش پر موسیقی باد!
مردمان سر رود، آب را می‌فهمند.
گل نکردندش، ما نیز
آب را گل نکنیم.

In the village upstream, the mud walls are no doubt kept low.
The villagers know the red poppy, when it blooms.
There, blue is a true blue, no doubt.
When a flower opens, it's new.
Oh what a village!
May it alleyways be forever filled with music!
The people upstream appreciate the water.
They have not muddied it.
